Doublelift to Take Break From Competitive Play
BY eSports Team - November 02, 2016

In an emotional announcement through Team SoloMid’s (TSM) Youtube channel, TSM AD Carry Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng announced that he will be taking a break from playing competitively in the coming North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS). Doublelift emphasized that he will not be retiring, and that he plans to come back in Summer Split. The NA LCS veteran also expressed the willingness to fight for his spot in the roster if needed.

TSM had an incredible run with Doublelift in NA LCS Summer Split, going to 17-1 in the round robin and convincingly won the Finals against Cloud9.  They were so dominant in their games, and even star mid laner Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg believed that this roster was the best version of TSM.

Everyone had high expectations for NA’s first seed coming in to Worlds because of their performance in the Summer Split, with analysts and coaches predicting that TSM can go deep in the tournament, or even make it to the Finals. Alas, everything didn’t go so well for the team, and they failed to make it even out of the group stage.

“ I felt like, I can definitely do better. If I stuck out another whole year with this roster, we would make it so much further than groups. I know it, and I’ve never felt that with another roster. “

Because of Doublelift’s decision to take a break, Team SoloMid is now actively looking for a skilled AD Carry. It will be a permanent position, and TSM’s coaching staff are looking to develop the new player as a true member of TSM. If Doublelift indeed decides to come back in Summer Split, he will have to compete for the starting position.
TSM have also decided not to attend Intel Extreme Masters 2016 – Oakland because of this roster move.
For now Doublelift, who has been playing competitive League of Legends for the last six years, will be focusing his efforts on content creation and streaming for Team SoloMid.
