KT Rolster: Super Team in the Making
BY eSports Team - December 01, 2016

KT Rolster failed to make the 2016 LoL World Championship after falling to the ROX Tigers in the LoL Champions Korea Summer Finals 2016 and losing to Samsung Galaxy in the Regional Finals. In the wake of another disappointing season for one of the oldest gaming organizations in South Korea, KT made a big splash in the off-season after signing three highly sought free agents: Season 4 world champion ‎Heo “PawN” Won-seok, arguably the best AD Carry last year Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu, and ROX star top laner Song "Smeb" Kyung-ho. The team made the announcements through press releases according to Fomos.

PawN was the mid laner for Samsung White during their historic Season 4 Worlds run in South Korea. After winning Worlds, he decided to move to China and joined premier organization Edward Gaming. PawN was joined by Deft in EDG and together they won two LoL Pro League (LPL) titles with EDG, along with numerous Demacia Cup titles and two Worlds appearances, as well as beating Faker and SK Telecom T1 in the first ever Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2015 Finals.

On the other hand, Smeb was widely considered as the best player in the world last year. He was the main carry of a dominating ROX Tigers team, who finally captured their first and last LCK title last Summer Split 2016, after falling many times at the hands of SKT. Smeb and the Tigers were the favorites to win last year’s Worlds, but were once again eliminated by their rivals, Faker and SKT, in an amazing semifinals bout.

These three talented players will fill the gap left by Chan-ho “Ssumday” Kim, Yong-jun “Fly” Song, No "Arrow" Dong-hyeon, and will join KT jungler Dong-bin “Score” Go. KT has yet to sign a support, but there have been rumors that former Samsung White and Royal Never Give Up star support Cho "Mata" Se-hyeong will team up with Deft in the bot lane.
